‘Will lift off easily!’ Mrs Hinch fans share how to remove burnt food from saucepans

Eileen Scholes said: “Cover the bottom with washing powder and enough water to cover.

“This oxygenates and lifts the food. Leave overnight and you should see a good improvement with very little elbow grease.”

You can buy washing powder from Sainsbury’s for just £2.50 or from Morrisons for £2.59.

Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included boiling vinegar, using a dishwasher tablet or using cola.

Chelsea Suzanne Clark said: “When this happens to me, I fill it with water just up to the edge of the crust, maybe an inch above, and add some dishwasher detergent. Let it sit.”
