DEAR DEIDRE: MY son’s asthma is taking over his life and I don’t know where to turn for help.

While most ten-year-old boys are tearing around playing football and wrestling their mates, mine prefers to stay at home on his iPad.

I want my boy to enjoy his life but his asthma is taking over

He’s terrified of having an asthma attack after a bad experience last year we think was set off by pollen.

It really scared him and now he avoids doing anything he thinks might spark an attack.

I’m his 34-year-old mum.

I want him to live a normal life.

DEIDRE SAYS: I am sorry your son is struggling.

While there is no cure for asthma, medication can help control it. See what your son’s doctor suggests.

If your son’s asthma is triggered by pollen, it is best to keep windows and doors closed when the pollen count is high.
