Los Angeles Detective Sharon Kim told KTLA that Flores, a citizen of El Salvador, had a history of domestic violence.
Flores had also stalked Ruiz for several months before he killed her.
Authorities last Friday charged him with murder, child endangerment and shooting at an inhabited dwelling or occupied car.
‘The relationship was violent,’ Kim said. ‘She had several reports made against him over the years and most recently she took out a restraining order against him due to some violent acts he committed against her.’
