This is the shocking moment a thug threatened a removal man with an air rifle before smashing his van and slashing his tyres with a sword.

Video shows a 43-year-old man threatening to shoot Oscar Wheatland, 22, during a heated row at an address in Bishop’s Waltham, Hampshire on Monday.

The thug then stomps back into his home and comes out brandishing an air rifle, prompting the terrified removal man to run away.

A second video filmed by Mr Wheatland shows the thug smashing the van windows and slashing the tyres with a sword.

Police arrested the man and seized his weapons. He has been released on conditional bail until March 1, pending further enquiries.

Mr Wheatland, from Portsmouth, told MailOnline that he had been booked to move the belongings of the thug’s son.

He said the man had ‘clearly been arguing’ with his son and didn’t want him to move out of his home during the pandemic before he rounded on Mr Wheatland and accused him of ‘breaking Covid rules’.

Government pandemic guidance states that tradespeople cannot reasonably be expected to complete their work from home.

As the row escalated, Mr Wheatland started filming the exchange – causing the thug to lose his temper even more and threaten him.

The thug is seen calling Mr Wheatland a ‘c***’ and telling him to ‘f*** off’, before warning: ‘Carry on filming me, cause you’ll be dead in a minute.’

The 43-year-old then stomps back into his Bishop’s Waltham home to grab his air rifle, causing Mr Wheatland to run away.

Speaking to MailOnline, Mr Wheatland revealed he called police – only for the battery on his phone to die as he started speaking to an operator.

He managed to flag down a UPS driver who then called Hampshire Constabulary from the vehicle, before officers arrested the man.

A force spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘We were called to an incident at 11.52am on Monday 1 February to reports of a man brandishing an offensive weapon at an address in Bishops Waltham.

‘Upon arrival, a number of offensive weapons were located at a property – these were subsequently seized by officers.

‘A 43-year-old man from Bishop’s Waltham was arrested on suspicion of one count of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, one count of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, one count of possession of a firearm without a certificate, one count of possession of a prohibited weapon, one count of criminal damage, one count of affray and one count of producing a quantity of Class B drugs.

‘He was released on conditional bail until Monday 1 March 2021, pending further enquiries.’
