“But there’s still a long way [to go], and we’re going to have to focus again until the end of the season.

“Obviously you could see that the game was going both ways. Like I said, it’s very hard to play here. They have a style of play, we know them, they are very strong and we knew it would be difficult.

“We had to keep our heads calm and just stay focused in ourselves then the goal would come, and it did come. It was a great performance from everyone, good focus, and we have to keep doing this.

“I’m always happy when I win. Obviously today we won so I’m very happy. I’m happy we played well and happy we are at the top.

While Pogb’as midfield partner Nemanja Matic said: “It was exactly what we expected and we did a great job and deserved the points. We are top of the table and we are happy.

“We are exactly where we belong. Burnley are a good side and to win here is not easy.

“We know that we go game by game. This one was a final and now we focus on the next one in the same way against Liverpool.”
