Love Island’s Jacques defended by former villa girl as he comes under fire from fuming fans

TONIGHT’s episode of Love Island wasn’t a good one for Jacques O’Neill, after his kisses with Cheyanne Kerr were uncovered by partner Paige Thorne.

The 23-year-old has been slammed by fans of the show, with many calling for him to be dumped from the island.

However, he has a friend in a former bombshell, who has defended his actions.

Antigoni Buxton has shared her views on the situation, coming to Jacques’ defence.

After being dumped from the island on July 1, she has been keeping her followers updated with her opinions of the show.

During a recent interview with Digital Spy, Antigoni was asked which islanders she thinks have been portrayed in a bad light.

She explained that Jacques’ personality hasn’t been shown in full.

Speaking to the publication, she revealed: “In terms of a fair light, I feel like Jacques has been put in quite a bad light and he’s actually really lovely.”

“He’s definitely got this laddish/boyish side that can tow the line of being a little bit too cheeky sometimes, but that’s only one side of his personality.

“And there’s another side of his personality that’s really sweet and sensitive and caring.”

She continued: “I don’t think viewers are really going to see that, which is a shame, but hopefully they will do over the coming weeks.”

The former islander did however express concern for Paige, saying: “the way he’s been behaving in Casa Amor is just silly anyway”.

Antigoni added: ” ‘m a bit worried for Paige to be honest, because she’s such a sweet girl. She’s so lovely, and it’s gonna be hard.”
