EMMERDALE fans are convinced that Charles Anderson’s daughter Naomi is part of the gang that attacked Nicola King after spotting a major clue.

But fans think the newcomer, played by Karene Peter, has a link to the dangerous gang that attacked Nicola last month.

Nicola – who is portrayed by Nicola Wheeler on the ITV soap – was brutally attacked by a group of teenage girls, where she was mugged, beaten and left bloodied

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to speculate over one of the attackers’ identity.

After Nicola had been attacked, one of the girls wearing metallic trainers approached her as she begged: “Please… no more.”

To which the mystery person whispered: “I’m sorry” before running away to join her friends.

Viewers think the trainers are a ‘giveaway’ clue and will point the finger at Naomi.

One fan wrote: “I remember in the episode Nicola got attacked in that at the end a girl apologised and they seemed to focus on her trainers, not sure if there was any point to it or if I am over thinking but yes I do think there will be a connection.”

Another posted: “I think she may well be just because it would make a good twist and that she will probably be introduced to the show as a permanent character soon.”

“I assume she will be, the narrative seems to be that she is a good girl being led astray by a bad group of friends so that would tie in with her being there when Nichola was attacked but not being an actual participant and feeling guilty about it,” a third speculated.

A fourth predicted: “I certainly think that whomever it was that said Sorry to Nicola at the end will end up in the village somehow. Naomi could fit with that.”

Another echoed: “The girl with gold trainers, who said sorry to Nico. There must be a reason that happened. Yes 99% sure it will prove to be Naomi.”

Someone else said: “We may not have seen Naomi’s face but they definitely showed a sixth hooded individual in a number of scenes in the background hiding behind one of the columns.

“Like most I didn’t notice her first time, but when I replayed the scene to establish where the sixth member came from, it became quite clear. You can see the sixth girl’s legs in the pic below (who I assume is Naomi).”

In 2021, Charles  (portrayed by Kevin Mathurin) found out he had a daughter named Naomi but never had the chance to be a part of her life.

This was due to his former wife Esme suffering from postnatal depression and leaving him as a result.

Unable to take care of her daughter due to her condition, Esme put Naomi up for adoption.

Unlike Charles, however, she later had the chance to meet the young girl and form a bond with her in 2020.
