ARSENAL got off to a winning start away at Crystal Palace as they won 2-0 at Selhurst Park in the opening match of the new Premier League season.

The Gunners looked to be a different team from the side that were humiliated 3-0 by Patrick Vieira’s men in April.

After spurning an early chance, Martinelli broke the deadlock in South London in the 20th minute.

The Brazilian forward headed home from close range after getting on the end of Oleksandr Zinchenko’s header across goal.

Aaron Ramsdale denied Odsonne Edoaurd and Eberechi Eze either side of the half to keep the game level.

And after intense pressure, Arsenal sealed the victory in the 85th minute after Marc Guehi bundled in Bukayo Saka’s cross to turn into his own net.
