Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel could be sacked as early as this summer, reckons former Tottenham midfielder Tim Sherwood. Tuchel was only appointed as Chelsea head coach last week following the sacking of Frank Lampard. The German signed an 18-month contract at Stamford Bridge.
However, Sherwood believes Tuchel will not last beyond this season if he does not qualify for the Champions League.
Tuchel picked up four points from his first two matches in charge ahead of Thursday’s trip to Tottenham.
“I think Tuchel has come with a reputation but no matter what his reputation says, he has to win,” Sherwood told Premier League Productions.
“I think he signed a very short-term contract. If he wants to stay at the club, he’s going to have to take them into the top four, minimum, this season.”

“I had the feeling he was still mentally strong, that the position suits him very well and he is experienced enough to do it.
“He’s a bit more used to the position than Ben Chilwell, whom I like a lot.
“Chilly is a great player and I’m happy to have him in the team but [against Burnley] it was about the size of Marcos, his ability to help us in defensive set-pieces and also his goal threat.
“I saw many games of him in this position with Antonio Conte and now it’s very important that he keeps on going because he gives a different profile to the position.”
